I’ve always been a DIY type of girl when it comes to beauty treatments. Hair, nails, skincare-I learned how to do it all on my own (I mean, it’s FUN), but I don’t always have time to indulge at home. I’ll always do my own hair + face masks, but thankfully, my bestie is a nail tech, and I’m teaming up with European Wax Center to help me keep my brows and other grooming needs in check!
Brows are a SERIOUS thing for me. Like every other 30+ year old woman, I over plucked in the 90s but by the grace of the beauty Gods I stopped and still have full brows. I typically tweeze or use a razor, but I have to admit that there’s nothing quite like a good brow shaping using wax. Getting my brows waxed regularly (every 3-4 weeks) at EWC will help the hairs to get on the same growth cycle (totally didn’t know this was a thing), and call me crazy, but you just feel like a new person as soon as you get them done!
If you’re not familiar with European Wax Center (EWC), they have a wax that’s specially engineered for them vs the hot wax/strip combo that most use. They also utilize a 4 Steps to Gorgeous process to prep and pamper your skin and minimize discomfort as well which is a plus for me since I’ve had bad waxing experiences in the past. I was hesitant to get waxes because years ago, I let a friend that was getting their aestheticism license practice on me sometimes and I ALWAYS broke out afterwards. When I went for my first session at EWC, the specialist (Amber) walked me through everything and was quick; it does hurt a little (I mean come on, they’re ripping hair out of your skin, lol), BUT, because of the wax and removal technique, it was minimal. My brows looked great with 0 fill-in and I didn’t have any redness or swelling afterwards either.
I’m excited about this partnership because it’s one less thing I will have to worry with AND… I am building up to get my first bikini wax-and hopefully a Brazilian. I know, I know, you’re probably sitting there like WTH but hear me out!! I have a crazy, irrational fear when it comes to waxing so I’ve avoided it and have used razors and depilatories over the years. I’m over it though (you have to turn into contortionist in the shower and tbh, that’s not very safe, lol), so we will see if I can conquer my fear and do it! Ha!
EWC also has product lines for body, skin and brows, so I’ll be testing out products and sharing those reviews with you guys as well. I started using their BROWFECTION® Brow Powder Duo after the first visit because it gives your brows a nice defined but natural look, and I’m going to test out their new BROWFECTION® Stayput Brow Pencil this week (it just launched and is cream to powder!). I also picked up a Body Polish, Wash, and Lotion from the Strut Lavishly Collection to help get my skin together for the season. They smell so good (I have the Graceful Strut Collection an it smells really clean, like a blend of cotton and linen) and the cool thing about them is that they’re formulated to visibly help slow the regrowth of hair between waxes, which is a major plus in my book. We’ll see how everything goes!
If you live in/near Memphis, I have a special discount code for you: use KPFUSION20 to receive 20% off a service or product at any of the 3 locations. They also have a special going on this month with the Stayput Pencil Kit – it includes the NEW Stayput Brow Pencil and Brush, Brow Highlighter and sharpener (everything you need for a full brow look). It’s available in-center for only $25 ($64 value); if you’ve never been to EWC, they offer a complimentary brow, underarm, or bikini waxing for first-time visits, so make an appt. and grab some product when you’re done!
Have you ever been to EWC? Do you use any of their products?
Disclosure: this post is sponsored by European Wax Center, but all services have been tested personally and opinions are totally my own.
