Last month was crazy busy with projects and travel. I traveled to NOLA one weekend for a family trip and then turned right back around to go to The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach, FL to shoot some content for the hotel the very next weekend. A beautiful AAA-Four Diamond Resort steps off of the beach, the 4 day trip was a dream. Not only were the accommodations great, but the staff there was genuinely nice. And I don’t mean nice in that “hospitable” way that you expect from a resort & spa, but every one was really helpful and excited to have us (it was another work trip with my photog buddy Michael) and curious about what we were shooting.
Fall was just setting in in Memphis but it was still in the 80s in Daytona, so I knew I had to find balance with packing. It would be a 25 degree difference both ways, so travel attire was relatively easy (jeans, kimono or sweater and sandals), and I knew rompers and dresses would be my best bet for the beach heat. I immediately fell in love with this floral print dress from Target’s new Wild Fable™ line.
I love it’s slightly retro vibe with the small floral pattern and button front design. It’s one of those pieces that makes you feel pretty as soon as you put it on. I didn’t wan’t to take it off!

Lace up sandals and a small circular bag were perfect for the beach, but I’ve also worn it with thigh high boots and a denim jacket to transition it for the Fall.

The thing that I like about this collection is that it is full of on-trend pieces and covers a wide range of sizes, but they’re also not junior cut, so you don’t have to worry about the dresses being way too short and exposing everything. I guess “Missy” would be the right label since it’s not designed strictly for teenagers, but you won’t feel like you’re wearing something a 12 year old should have on either. If they make more dresses cut like this, I will buy them all!
I’ll share picks from the resort later this week!
