We’ve reached that time of year where I hate all of my clothes. Yes, my closet is filled to the brim, but the weather has been so erratic lately that getting dressed has become really, really hard. Being cute is a must, but when you don’t know if it’s going to rain or hail or be hot, you start to get frustrated with everything that you own, lol. Am I making excuses to want to shop? Maaaaaaybe, lol, but I also know that Spring is only a month away so more transitional pieces are needed for my wardrobe.
I don’t necessarily curate when I shop, but I’have been a lot more intentional lately whenever I buy something new. I want pieces that are versatile for sure (gotta maximize that dollar!), but still have those little details that make them stand out. Right now it’s all about transitional pieces that can be worn regardless of the weather. I already have a few shoes + skirts that I nabbed during the colder months on hella sale, but the items below are also on my list.
Forever 21 Ruffle Trim Tunic, $35
Dressier blouses are clutch right now. You can wear them with jeans (with or without a jacket) and always look put together.
I’ve been obsessed with crop denim the last few months. Being that I’m so short, Ankle length jeans are perfect + can help give the look of longer legs, and cropped versions are a great way to show off trendy mules and ankle booties.
Barney’s Originals Leather Jacket With Belt, $114
I have been on the hunt for the perfect leather jacket for years. It is the number one piece to have in your closet because it’s so versatile. It makes every outfit look a little edgier and chic, and in the event you have some lighter weight tops or dresses that you can’t wear alone, you can slip this over it and be good.
Sarto by Franco Sarto Women’s Louella Ankle Bootie, $143.06
White booties are very much on trend, but not everyone feels comfortable trying it. A lighter grey still gives you that look but is a lot easier to wear.
Moth Raspail Sweater, $59.95
Cream sweaters are staples, but the boatneck detail elevates it a bit.
Topshop Python Print Pleat Midi Skirt, $75
Snakeskin print will always be on trend, and a midi length skirt option is a bit more versatile than a mini. You can actually pair this version with a silk blouse or lightweight sweater and heels for work.
Only Oversized Blazer, $26.50
An oversized blazer is such a fun trend to try, and this muted kelly green color just screams Spring.
Universal Thread Square Flap Backpack, $32.99
It’s seriously time to update my “work” bag. This cognac color pairs well with everything.
H&M – Knit Dress, $39.99
Knit dresses are another wardrobe staple because you can dress them up or down accessorize them so many ways. This pretty dusty rose color is perfect for transitioning to Spring.
Moon River Corchallan Top, $54.40
The details make the top, and the puffed, ruched sleeves on this top help elevate it.
