Last week I hosted a Sip + Shop with some of my fellow Memphis bloggers at American Threads in Saddle Creek, and I still can’t believe that I wore a crop top set! I was so nervous about trying this on because it was so out of my comfort zone-I haven’t worn a crop top since I was 13! I don’t know what made me grab it when I was shopping (I’m not a huge tie-dye fan for me personally though I respect the trend), but it caught my eye and I was so glad I did!

I love how the pants are cut (they flare out when you walk; they also have built-in shorts so you’re not completely exposed), and the smocked tube top was stretchy and comfy while holding my “curves” so I felt secure. I topped it with a lace kimono because I wanted all of the gypsy vibes that night, and platform sandals because I’m a shorty and wanted to pretend I was tall haha.
Long story short: if you like how something looks and how it makes you feel, try it! Even if it’s not something that you would typically wear, don’t be afraid to experiment with your style and step out of your comfort zone. You never know what type of sartorial magic you might make!
Would you wear a crop top set?
