As we prepare to officially kick off this holiday season, it’s important to find ways to treat ourselves in addition to what we do for others. Yes, tis the season of gift giving, but what’s wrong with making sure you do a lil somethin somethin for yourself as well? Over the last year I’ve learned the importance of finding time to do nice things for myself because you can’t pour from an empty cup, ya know? If you’ve been holding back from the whole #treatyoself movement, I’m here to share 3 ways to do so this holiday season.
Elevate your everyday essentials
There are certain things that we wear that we gravitate towards daily (a classic gold necklace favorite lipstick, fun purse), so why not elevate and invest in a little “happy” or 2 that will put an extra smile on your face? I always wear a gold necklace and earrings, so instead of always buying inexpensive options, now is the perfect time to invest in some more quality pieces that I know I will wear everyday (and won’t lose, lol).
Book a spa day
Do I love at home self-care/pamper situations? Yes maam, but I also think that sometimes you need to go to the professionals and get some extra special services. Whether it’s for a massage, facials, mani/pedi or the whole shebang, find some time to block out a spa day for yourself where you can actually indulge in this fun self-care treatments. You work hard and support others all the time, so why not do something that will make you feel good?
Take a staycation
Chill days at home are awesome, but there is really nothing like a staycation at a new or favorite local hotel to help perk up your creativity. I recently did one at Arrive Hotel in downtown Memphis and it was amazing! My tip would be to pick a location that has restaurants, bars and other great amenities onsite so that you don’t really have to leave if you don’t want to. Also try to pick one in a part of town that has a lot of things to do in the surrounding area that are within walking distance. That way, if you do decide to get out you can explore the area like a tourist and really relax and feel like you’re on a trip away from home. You may not be able to afford to travel like you want all of the time, but this is an easy way for you to get away from your everyday life from time to time.
There are so many different ways that you can treat yourself, so really take some time to think about how you can pamper and do something extra special for yourself and do it!
What’s your favorite way to pamper yourself?
