Being at home more than usual makes you take a closer look at the little home decor projects + needs that may have been on your to-do list forever. For myself, it’s made me really want to buckle down and finish up decorating my apartment so that it can truly feel like “home”. I used to have a habit of buying little small decor items to fill up my spaces vs. buying the more substantial items I needed because of the larger ticket price, but I know that if I never get those things, I won’t be fully happy with my space.
With that being said, I finally ordered some of those items last week (a new rug, large faux plant and a better TV console), but now that I have a clearer idea of what I want to do with my space (and those larger items will help flesh it out), I still need to get a few other decor items as well.
Nathan James Mina Modern TV Stand Entertainment Cabinet, $168
At first I was dead set on cali boho being my style, but I realized that I like a lot of modern and farmhouse elements just as much. Luckily, I can combine all of these styles together if I focus on having a theme throughout each room, vs. just finding pieces that I think are cute and trying to combine it all together because I own it. Once I realized that each of those styles have certain decor elements that will work across the board, it made it much easier to decorate.
Woven Sisal Basket, $30
72′ Loring 5 Shelf Ladder Bookcase – Project 62™, $130
Faux Fiddle Leaf Tree in Starter Pot by Valerie, $59
Water Hyacinth Storage Bins with Handles, $7+
Lory Pouf Textured – Opalhouse, $50
I finally got my bathroom how I want it, and all of the other rooms in my apartment are about 60%-70% done, so I’ll be happy to finally reach a place of completion. I’ve pulled all of the decor pieces that I can use that I already own (I’m going to donate the rest to make more space), and I am now actively looking for those needed home decor items that will help me finish each room.
