Even if I wasn’t a blogger, I’d still have a thing for makeup products because I love testing out and trying new things. With that being said, I DO look for holy grail products that I can incorporate into my every day routine. While there are certain makeup products that I’ve used for years and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon (looking at you, Rimmel Stay Matte Primer), I love when I discover something new that works amazingly with my skin. I wear makeup at least 3-5 days a week (not because I have to, but because I like to), so I wanted to share my updated makeup faves in cause you guys were looking for something new.
Primer
Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
This has been my holy grail primer for at least 4 years. If you’re an oily gal, you need this primer in your life.
Foundation
Beauty Bakerie InstaBake Aqua Glass Foundation
This is newer to my collection, but I love the finish of this foundation and how buildable it is. I will be switching to something lighter in a few weeks because of the humidity here, but this is one I’ll be keeping in rotation for awhile.
Concealer
ColourPop Matte Full-coverage Concealer
I absolutely love this concealer. It’s full coverage without feeling cakey, and it gives me that matte under eye finish that I like without it looking dry.
Powder
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
So I hardly ever bake, but I usually use 2 different powders under my eye. I also sometimes do the hack of applying a light dusting of powder under my foundation to help keep my skin matte. Even though this isn’t a loose powder, it operates similarly to one and can be layered on without making your skin look dry.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder
I use this powder 2 different ways: to set + brighten under my eyes when I feel like I need extra coverage, and as an allover face setting powder on days that I’m doing a “no makeup” makeup look.
Cheeks
Kylie Cosmetics Bronzer
I love a good bronzer that I can both bronze and contour with; I have a contour powder that I use but this is perfect for when you want more warmth but still a little definition. It is VERY pigmented, so take your time to build it up. I also use this on my eyes in place of eyeshadow (an easy way to add depth without using a ton of products).
Sephora Collection Colorful Face Powders Blush
I always wear blush. I feel like your look just doesn’t look complete without a touch of blush, preferably a pretty pink one.
Brows
Ultra Precise Brow Pencil
Another holy grail product that I’ve been using for years. I live the shape of the pencil and the formula-it helps to give you the look of full brows without looking like Oscar the Grouch.
Glossier Boy Brow
I love this brow gel both alone and when I use a brow pencil. The texture and how it makes your brows stay in place is undefeated, and I recommend it to everyone.
Eyes
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara
I started using this mascara a few months ago on the recommendation of a friend, and I’ve been hooked ever sense. I have oily eyelids so I prefer to use a waterproof formula, but this is one that doesn’t flake or leave dark circles and I love it.
Lips
Morphe Liquid Lipstick
Every woman should have a go-to nude lip color. Most lean for a pinky nude, but I like one that’s more warm and tawny. The color Peanut is a spicy sienna shade and I get so many compliments on it when I wear it. It never leaves my bag.
M·A·C Lipglass
I don’t wear lipgloss all of the time, but I do like to keep it in my purse just in case. This is a classic and comes in so many colors. It’s a little sticky but I actually like that, lol.
Setting Spray
Morphe Continuous Setting Mist
I love, love, love this setting spray. It gives your skin a glow while simultaneously setting your makeup and melding everything together. I will sometimes use it in place of primer and it works just as well that way too.
I know that this may seem like a lot of products/steps for every day, but I can actually do my makeup within 5-10 minutes. It’s all about finding products that you know work well together, so that you can do your makeup even if your eyes were closed.
