I’ve been shopping on Amazon so much the last few weeks that I eventually gave in and got a Prime Membership, lol. I was mostly looking at things for the home (because #budget), but I also found some other goodies as well. I know you guys shop a lot on Amazon as well, so I thought I’d share a few of the things that I’ve purchased that I’m very pleased with (just in case you find yourself doing some late night shopping too, lol).
I absolutely love this comforter! I wanted to switch to a lighter color in a linen/linen-esque fabric, and I took a chance on this comforter even though I saw a few bad reviews because it was a great price point and it had the look that I was going for. It’s PERFECT.
I can easily get hot when I sleep, but I’m also the weirdo that will turn a fan on while blasting the heat as well, and I needed a comforter that wouldn’t cause me to overheat at night (I have a penchant for finding these things). When this arrived, I got rid of all of my sheets except for these and when I tell you I slept like a baby the first night?? As long as I have the aesthetic going that I have now, I will re-order this because I sleep so much better now.
I’ve been wanting a cute vintage looking mirror/tray for no other reason but to use it as a prop. It’s entirely too small for me to hang up on a wall anywhere, but as you can see, I can use it in photos, and I can use it as a decorative tray as well.
Pampas grass is still really popular right now, and since the aesthetic I wanted for my home started to shift a few months ago, I knew I needed some to add in the mix with my normal (faux) greenery). The quality of this one is great and it doesn’t shed that much. I’m going to see if they have some longer stems because I want a few to add to a floor vase but for now, this will do.
New hat who this! I haven’t added a new hat to my collection in over a year! I already own so many, but after watching a blogger’s stories, I realized I didn’t have this style in this color. This was perfect for my big head, lol, and the price was right. If you’re shopping for fedoras, the key is to make sure the brim is very stiff. If it’s not, it’s going to change shape and get floppy and nobody wants that.
Simple gold jewelry is my go-to, and I really like this layering necklace that I found online. Very affordable, and the metal hasn’t tarnished or anything. Gold jewelry is classic and goes with everything, so I do plan to add some more to my collection at varying lengths.
I’ve been wanting some more lens to play around with, so I ordered 2 recently and I’m very happy with them, especially the 40 mm lens. Because of the type of content that I shoot and the type of clients that I work with, I don’t always need a lens that goes all the way down to 1.2 or 1.4 aperture; I actually hardly ever shoot that wide open anyway because depending on your subject it can look disjointed from its background. I typically live in the 2.8-3.5 zone with my aperture settings, so these were a great addition. My only complaint is the vignetting, but I can correct most of it in post so it’s not too big of a deal.
I purchased way more than what you see above, but these are the things that I’m currently using and can see myself purchasing again if need be. I still prefer to shop for most things in person, but it’s definitely a great thing to use when you’re on the hunt for something specific!
