There’s beauty in simplicity. While I love to incorporate statement earrings and other jewelry into my style shoots because they show up so well in photos and help give your outfits an extra pop, I tend to reach for simple gold hoops or drop earrings for my every day style. I’m not a huge planner when it comes to my daily outfits (meaning, I usually have no clue what I’m wearing that day until I stand in front of my closet in a rush, lol), so I need to have jewelry that I can easily throw on in the moment or tuck into my purse as I dash out my door and put it on in the car. That doesn’t mean that the jewelry has to be boring, but it does have to be versatile enough that I can wear it with pretty much any outfit.
Jewelry is so fun and even if it’s on the minimalist side, you can still have fun with the finishes, shapes, and even the weight. Over the years, I’ve found that I prefer matte gold jewelry vs shiny gold (it looks more luxe in my opinion), I hardly ever wear silver jewelry (except for hoop earrings), and I am always, always, always, looking for simple gold necklaces that I can layer with. I also pay attention to how the chain looks, but that’s a whole other story for another day, lol.
For earrings, classic hoops (of varying sizes) are my jam, but now that Spring is coming (and my hair is so short-but I’m growing it out; again, another story for another day, lol), gold drop earrings will go perfectly with the looks that I’m envisioning in my mind.
Early parts of Spring, when the weather is warm and crisp during the day but still breezy at night, is my favorite time of the season. The colors are like candy and mixed with bright whites, and although I’ve never been, make me think of Europe and the more feminine styles that you see women wear in Greece, Barcelona, and other places like that. My girly, playful side wants to comes out and play, so I look for earrings that will reflect and work well with those styles. Spring will officially be here in a few days and I can’t wait!
What type of jewelry do you love to wear?
