Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of having a staycation at the newly renovated Westin Memphis, located right off of the historic Beale Street. I hit the ground running with work when I came back from my Florida trip last month, so even if it was just for a night, I was ready to get away from my apartment and indulge in a little bit of luxury at a nice hotel!
The Westin Memphis has recently made updates across the board to the hotel; the lobby has been refreshed with new furniture, art work and chandeliers, and the rooms have updated furniture, carpet, and drapes. Check-in is super easy (they offer mobile check-ins/outs), and there is also dining available on site.
Once I got checked into my room (a GORGEOUS executive suite with a king sized bed and great view of Fed-Ex Forum; they even had chilled Prosecco and fresh fruit waiting for me!), I freshened up and met friends for a quick bite at Aldo’s pizza, which is about a 10 minute walk away on Main Street. Being so close to Beale Street and the Fed-Ex Forum meant that there were activities to do if I chose (the Orpheum Theater is also a block away), but it was Sunday and after a really busy week of work, I wanted to RELAX, lol.
When I made it back to my room, I took a shower (it’s seriously one of the sexiest showers I’ve ever seen); there was also a garden tub that was calling my name, but I was almost too tired to soak in a bath, if that makes sense. I crawled into the huge bed with a good book, my laptop (which I never opened, lol), and then watched Friends until I fell asleep. I slept SOOOOO good! If you’re someone that likes to sleep in total silence, I do recommend taking a pair of ear plugs with you just to block out some of the street noise. I had extremely noisy neighbors at one point and had to sleep with them, so I was ready and slept like a log. Ha!
Bleu Restaurant was closed for dinner the night before, but I visited for breakfast. When I saw that they had French Toast, I knew that I had to indulge. They were fluffy and buttery and delicious!
Check-out isn’t until noon (and I could do it mobily), so I had a little time to do some blog work and photo editing after breakfast. Not having to rush to leave was really the icing on the cake, and the perfect way to end my staycation and start the week. It’s not always easy to travel when you have a job that keeps you busy (and with us not completely out of a pandemic), so findings ways to treat yourself in town means a lot. A change of scenery can do you good, and the Westin Memphis was perfect!
Thank you to The Westin Memphis for gifting me this wonderful experience. If you’d like to learn more about the hotel or book your own stay, click here.
