As you guys know, I moved into a new place last month. My second bedroom has always served as a home office, and who better to partner with to FINALLY get this one together than with IKEA®?
In my last apartment, I had a semi office, and when I say semi I mean that I had a few decor pieces and a mirror in there that I liked and had collected over the years, but the space never fully came together, so I hardly ever really used it for more than anything but storage. I knew that I wanted to keep things clean and simple with a touch of bohemian style, but I needed the solution to be affordable as well. I’ve always gravitated towards that aesthetic when doing “blogger home office” research, so I just needed to find the right foundational pieces to bring it all together.
BEFORE
Partnering with IKEA® allowed me to work with a team locally to figure out what exactly I needed. Being a content creator meant that while I needed the foundational pieces of a typical home office (desk, storage options, etc.), I needed them to also flow together in a way that would support the aesthetic that I wanted to have while still having function.
I didn’t necessarily want it to be all white, but texture-wise, I knew I wanted to have woods, rattan, and greenery (faux, because you guys know I have a black thumb, lol) to help ground the other decor pieces that I already owned. After a few zoom calls and emails where I shared my office inspo and we discussed my needs, they were able to come up with a few ideas for me to pick from. After a few product swaps, we finalized my selections and set up delivery!
AFTER

- FEJKA Artificial potted plant, indoor/outdoor fiddle-leaf fig
- MUSKOT Plant pot
- LOBERGET / BLYSKÄR Swivel chair
- BESTÅ BURS Desk
- SPORTSLIG Wall shelf
- SJÄLSLIGT Decoration, set of 3
- KVICKSUND Memo board
- NIKKEBY Clothes rack,
- NYMÅNE Floor lamp with 3-spotlights,
- STOCKHOLM Mirror, walnut veneer
- KALLAX Shelf unit
- BULLIG Box, bamboo/brown
- FRYKEN Box with lid, set of 3, seagrass
- LAUTERS Table lamp with LED bulb
- LOHALS Rug, flatwoven, natural6 ‘ 7 “x9 ‘ 10 “
The space is simple, clean and feels serene, which is what I wanted. Although it’s an office, I didn’t want it to be stuffy or sterile, but it still needed to serve its function, so the mix of textures and color tones (creams, white, blush, tan) feels soft and feminine without being too girly-perfect for a lifestyle blogger. In the event I want to change out my pictures or other decor pieces, I can do so without having to re-do the entire room because the fundamental pieces work so well together and with other contemporary styles.
While I may still work from my couch or bed from time to time, I LOVE finally having a designated office space that is DONE. I can do try-on hauls, film make up tutorials and unboxings, and even take product shots in here if I need to in addition to editing client work. I don’t feel overwhelmed when I walk in, and once my work day is done, I can close my laptop and be DONE.
Thank you so much to the IKEA® team for partnering with me on this space. I absolutely love it!
