Everyone has been talking about Elvis, the long-awaited biopic by Baz Luhrmann that was recently released, so I’m excited to be partnering with Elvis Whiskey to bring you The Sidewinder, a fun cocktail recipe that you can sip on while streaming!
I’ve always been a whiskey cocktail kind of girl, so when they reached out, I was ecstatic to try it. It’s bottled in TN (and I grew up 5 minutes away from Graceland), so it made for a fun match!
So, there are 2 options to choose from (Tiger Man Whiskey, and The King Straight Rye Whiskey) and I’m using Tiger Man. About Elvis Whiskey: Old gold in color, with an aroma of toasted oak and sweet corn with a hint of citrus and apple. Flavor notes of sweet-toasted maple, roasted creme brulee, and subtle notes of a granny smith apple and caramel lead to a very balanced, long, soft, sweet and genuine great finish. Mash Bill: 80% Corn, 10% Rye, 10% Malted Barley. Elvis Whiskey is sourced and blended by an expert team of industry veterans and bottled in Tennessee, where Elvis began his career and called home. 90 Proof.
Sounds yum, right? Okay, let’s get to the recipe!
The Sidewinder
- 2 oz Elvis Tennessee Whiskey
- .75 oz fresh lemon juice
- .5 oz orgeat syrup (this is an almond syrup)
- .25 oz honey
Combine ingredients into a shake. Give it a good shake and strain in a Collin’s glass over ice.
Extra: Add 1 dropper of butterfly pea flower extract* and garnish with edible glitter. Voila!
*the butterfly pea flower will change the drink colors and the edible glitter will really take it over the top / embody Elvis. The flavors will have a nutty element as we know he liked.
This is such a refreshing cocktail to make, especially during the Summer time. Happy Sipping!
