If you’ve yet to visit Good Fortune Co., what are you waiting on?
Located in Downtown Memphis at 361 S. Main Street, Good Fortune Co. is one of my favorite foodie spots to open within the last year. The menu focuses on ramen and dumplings with additional Asian-inspired cuisine, and everything is made from scratch in-house.
Owners Sara Cai and Arturo Leighton have crafted a food and cocktail menu that is inspired by all of the different flavors they’ve experienced through their travels over the years. If you’re vegan (or just enjoy vegan food), you’ll find vegan options on the menu as well.
In addition to the delicious food, the space itself is a whole vibe. I love all of the murals on the wall and the “Send Nudes” photo-op wall, and they have an eclectic playlist that consists of a lot of old-school hop-hop and lo-fi music, so you feel like you’re in a completely different city when you step through the doors. They have a patio area where you can chill and people watch as well.
I’ve been to Good Fortune Co. a few times since they opened last year, and while I’ve enjoyed their ramen, the must-try items that I’d advise everyone to try if ramen isn’t their thing:
- Dumplings are a must (I always get the Wonton ones but have also tried the Pork flavor as well)
- Charred Edamame
- GFC Wings (I dream about these wings, the flavor is so good)
- Taiyaki Ice Cream
