I recently popped into Edge Alley, a cute little American cafe tucked away on Monroe in the Edge District for what was supposed to be a working lunch but turned into people watching + just vibing out in the space while I enjoyed my meal.
Edge Alley is a beautiful, light filled space with a cool, laid back Cali vibe. It’s located close to Downtown, but there’s still ample parking around it so it’s easy to pop in to grab something to go or chill for a bit. It’s been a few years since I last visited, so the menu is vastly different from then. There was a lot to choose from, but my goal lately has been to find places that offer a good mix of both healthier options and indulgent bites.
What I ordered:
Cardamom Latte (espresso, coriander, cardamom textured milk, sugar & spice rim)
Grain Bowl w/Chicken (market veggies, quinoa, pickled red onion arugula, chunks of avocado, herb vin)
S’mores Pots deCreme (chocolate custard, graham cracker crunch torched house-made marshmallow fluff)
Everything was delish! The Grain Bowl was healthy, but also flavorful and fulfilling, and the S’mores Pots deCreme was reminiscent of a childhood favorite (chocolate pudding) but much more elevated. And the latte? I enjoyed it so much that I ordered 2!
I love all of the natural light that flows throughout the space + their playlist was chill, so it’s a great spot for working or catching up with friends. They also have a cocktail and dinner menu, so I plan to go back soon to try those as well.
Edge Alley is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch
