Dresses are a HEAVY staple in my wardrobe, so when the brand Dani Marie The Label reached out about gifting me a piece from their collection, I couldn’t say no. Founded by sisters Sylvie and Danielle, Dani Marie The Label creates ethically made, timeless and size inclusive pieces that are designed to elevate your every day.
The Australian brand (based in Sydney) uses natural and recycled fabrics wherever possible, and the line consists of pretty, feminine dresses and separates, mostly in bold hues and pretty patterns. I immediately gravitated towards the Carla Twist Front Maxi Dress in Dark Berry. The color is absolutely stunning (so I knew it would look good against my skin), and the twist front cut-out detail adds a little bit of edge without feeling exposed. The added front slits allow the dress to just flow when you walk, so this is the perfect maxi dress to ease into travel season in. I kept the styling simple with gold jewelry and a neutral strappy heal, but the shape and length of the dress allows me to style it with booties and a jacket/cardigan during cooler weather, and cute sandals in the Spring.
I’m only 5’3, so I also liked the fact that the dress wasn’t too long, so it didn’t overpower me. I’m wearing a size 14, but due to how the dress ties in the back (around the neck), I possibly could’ve sized down for an even more nipped in look in the waist. The dress is sooo comfortable, so I’m fine with slightly looser fit, but I wanted to share just in case you were thinking of trying yourself.
The sizing for the brand starts at a 10 and is very inclusive (it goes up to a size 24/26). To learn more about the brand and see more of their styles, visit www.danimariethelabel.com.
