If you’re a Memphis foodie, then you already know that Memphis is filled with little gems around town. One of those is Kwik Chek, a deli meets convenience store that sells Korean and Greek infused dishes. Located in Midtown near Overton Square (it’s literally a hop, skip and a jump down the road), they’ve been open since 1988 and a go-to for people who want to grab something a little different on their lunch break.
I’m a creature of habit with some things, so I always order the Bi Bim Bop (sometimes seen as BiBimBap), a deliciously spicy Korean mixed rice bowl that can be made with beef, chicken, or tofu. They also offer wraps, sandwiches, muffalottas and other side dishes and desserts, but I always go for this (probably because I never get it from anywhere else, lol).

(Steamed white rice surrounded by carrots, bean sprouts, spinach, Korean radish, zuchinni, cucumber, and choice of beef, chicken or tofu. Topped with gochujang spicy sauce and sunny side up egg).
Since it also doubles as a convenience store, you can grab chips, a sweet treat, and something to drink for a full meal. There’s seating inside if you want to chill and people watch as well (it’s Midtown Memphis so this will always be the move, lol). Kwik Chek is lowkey (they haven’t posted to social since 2019), but well known with locals, so sometimes there’s a little bit of a wait, but you won’t be disappointed!
