As someone that’s been blogging for almost 14 years (my anniversary is in September!), I’ve covered a LOOOT of topics, and I know how easily it is to run out of content. With that being said, there are certain types of posts that I keep in my back pocket for those times when I haven’t really planned out content for my blog or IG, so I wanted to share just in case you’ve found yourself in a similar place with your own content.
The next time you’re trying to figure out what to post on your blog or IG, here are 7 post ideas for lifestyle influencers.
Brunch photo with friends (or food)
The next time you grab brunch with friends (or a meal in general) in an aesthetically pleasing place, take a moment to snap a few pics of your surroundings and food. Whether it’s a photo where you are included or its of everything else, it’ll make for an interesting post to your audience. My tip would be to actually talk about the place (a mini review if you will); this is what takes your post from being just a cute photo to actually being resourceful for people.
Selfie (using a new product)
Who doesn’t love a cute selfie? If you don’t want your selfie to be a “just because” post, talk about a new lipstick color, sunscreen, earrings, hair accessories (you get what I mean). Adding an extra element to your selfie post can keep people more invested in your content and potentially engage even further than just a “like”. Bonus point? Mention the brand; this can potentially lead to future spon con with them (and show other brands you know how to actually market to your audience).
Outfit of the day
A classic OOTD is always a good choice, but you can take it even further by not only showing your fit, but telling us about where you wore it! If you feel like that might be too personal, then just tell us about your accessories or why you styled it the way that you did.
BTS of work/blogging
BTS of what you do can be very interesting, especially if you’re someone that works in a creative field. If you have a 9-5, you can keep the actually business details to yourself (safety first!), but you can show yourself in meetings, with co-workers, on outings, picking up product for work, etc.
Coffee Shop Visit
What’s your coffee order? If you have a favorite shop that you always visit, have a friend snap a cute pic of you while you hangout, or if you’re solo, get an aesthetic shot of your drink. Keep it simple, but cute!
Pretty Flowers
Whether they are in nature, or you’re picking up a bouquet at a local floral shop, people LOVE to see pretty blooms. If you know how to make your own flower arrangements, you could film yourself making it and for content as well.
Re-Introduction
“Allow me to reintroduce myself!” If it’s been a while since you’ve talked about yourself/blog, or you’ve gotten an influx of new followers, a re-introduction to your community is always fun to do. Not everybody scrolls back through your content, so doing this periodically can help connect you deeper with your audience.
There are so many content options out there for you to create, but the ones listed above will always come through in a clutch!
