While the cottage core trend isn’t one that I ever thought I’d personally try, I’ve always thought milkmaid style dresses were so pretty and feminine, and since adding a few to my wardrobe, I’ve slowly fallen in love with the style. I’m a curvier girl, but I don’t have the coveted pear shape, so finding pieces that fit well and can still give that illusion (vs being boxy or too oversized) can be a challenge.
Milkmaid dresses are universally flattering and enhances your curves vs hiding them. The structure throughout the bodice gives the illusion of a flatter tummy, while the tie bust and ruffle sleeve help balance out broader shoulders while highlighting the girls. The midi length style that I gravitate towards is retro in nature, so you can’t help but sway your hips a little when you walk and take on a more coquettish yet poised personality.
Basically, I feel really, really pretty in dresses like this and am so happy I finally decided to try them out.
The ditsy floral print makes the whole dress feel dainty, and you really don’t need much when it comes to accessories; a simple heel, gold jewelry, small bag and a bold lip completes the look.
I absolutely love this dress and can’t wait to wear it out on a date.
