Cords + Stripes

I love when I find pieces that become instant wardrobe staples. I popped into LOFT the other day while out shopping and I found THE most perfect wide leg pants. I haven’t shopped at LOFT in a few years (not really sure why), but I will be returning because their Palmer Wide Leg Pant in Brushed Corduroy is absolute perfection.

I abhor high-rise pants (they come up too damn high on me), so if I’m in a store and see that a jean or trouser is a mid-rise fit, I have to try it on. I’m so glad I tried these because not only do I love the fit, but the length is perfect-long enough for heels, but short enough that I can wear them with flats.

I also love a good poplin shirt (they’ve been one of my go-tos lately), so I tried this striped one on just to see and they paired perfectly together. It’s lightweight and crisp with a slightly relaxed fit, so I can wear it as is or layer a loose sweater or cardigan over it.

I decided to style this look with silver flats vs. a brown or black boot and I love the way the whole look came together. The silhouette makes me happy and it’s a look that I want to recreate again and again.

These cords come in 3 other colors (and petites!) but the fit is also available in other fabrications, so I plan to go back to try more styles on.
