Good Eats | Fawn Restaurant Memphis
Every month, my close group of girlfriends and I meet up for dinner and to play catchup. We try to visit new spots each time, and a few months ago we visited Fawn, a farm-to-table, tapas-style restaurant in Cooper-Young. Using locally sourced ingredients, the cuisine is American but experimental, so you can expect a fun mix of flavors. I consider myself a foodie and am always open to trying new things when it comes to food, and Fawn’s approach to cuisine is fresh and bold, with a slight twist on a few comfort dishes.

One of the things that I love about my friends is that we all have a relatively vast palette, so we’re open to trying anything. We ordered cocktails, apps, entrees and dessert, and we all sample each other’s dishes to get a better feel of the menu.
Some of what we tried:

Miso Deviled Eggs
egg, red miso, kewpie, furikake, chili crisp

Cheese Plate
tulip trillum, n’duja spiced melon served w/ crostini

Grilled Asparagus
purple farm asparagus, bearnaise, spring peas, watermelon radish, garlic scape pesto, sweet potato crispies

Egg Yolk Pappardelle
milk braised rabbit, mustard greens, sour cherries, leek cream

Chocolate Basque Cheesecake
grapefruit coulis, mint
The good news? Everything was pretty tasty (my pasta dish was fantastic and I still think about it to this day). The bad news? I sit on content way too long sometimes. so some of these items are no longer available because they’ve now switched to their Fall menu (sorry!) You can still find the Miso Deviled Eggs (they’re a crowd favorite), but everything else has evolved into a different dish. But that’s ok-it just means that you have to go in for yourself to try things out.

We’re entering a season where our local businesses need us more than ever, so if you can, consider trying somewhere new (and local!), even if it’s just for cocktails and apps or dessert.

I love the way this is formatted! I haven’t been to Fawn yet but hope to soon.
thank you! I wish i would’ve gotten this out sooner, lol. That pasta and asparagus was to die for. I need to go back soon.
