YSL Beauty | First Impressions

It’s been a while since I’ve done a product review and YSL Beauty sent me some PR with a few of their beauty products, so I wanted to share here since it’s my first time ever using their makeup. The luxury brand is known for both clean, French Girl type beauty (think fresh skin with a smudged red lip) and bolder, more haute couture inspired beauty (smudgy eyes and a nude lip), so depending on your style, you can create so many different looks.

I received 5 different products and combined they make for an easy 5 minute face, so here are my first thoughts on them.

All Hours Creaseless Precise Angles Concealer
What it is: A creamy, creaseless, full-coverage concealer designed with a unique, multi-use applicator for a natural soft-matte finish, up to 24-hour wear, and hydration. Full Coverage Matte

First Impressions: The shade I was sent was a touch too warm for my skin tone, but I did like the formula and was able to make it work. It’s not quite self-setting, but it gives good coverage and doesn’t look crepey around the eyes. I’ve only worn it on days when I wanted minimum coverage but I do want to see how it blends with foundation.

Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara
What it is: A couture mascara with an oversized brush and fragrance-free paraben-free formula for intense color and extreme volume with up to all-day wear. Smudge-proof.

First Impressions: I love the way that the mascara made my lashes look (natural but more defined), but I wouldn’t say it was smudge-proof. I’ll have to try it with a primer or when I actually set my concealer with powder bc I have oily eyelids so everything that’s not waterproof smudges a little, but overall I do like the formula

YSL Loveshine Lip Oil Stick
What it is: Color of a lipstick, slip of an oil. Lipstick to oil hybrid with 6 nourishing oils to hydrate lips. Creamy buildable formula adds up to 24H hydration.

First Impressions: The color is sheer and the formula is very creamy but light and feels amazing on the lips. This is for when you want a wash of color, but not in a gloss formula.

All Hours 24H Hyper Sunkissed Glow Bronzer
What it is: A silky-soft bronzer with subtle shimmer—in an exclusive couture clutch—that leaves your skin with a natural, healthy-looking, sun-kissed glow for up to 24 hours.

First Impressions: Immediately obsessed. It’s such a gorgeous formula, and makes the skin look healthy and glowy. Sometimes bronzer can be too flat or have way too much shimmer and it distorts the color, but this one is the perfect mix so you just look kissed by the sun. It immediately went into my everyday makeup bag.

Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick
What it is: A jelly lip gloss stick that provides the glassy shine of a gloss with the care of a balm. This non-sticky formula melts on lips for more moisturized, juicy looking lips.

First Impressions: This also feels great on the lips but it’s closer to a gloss. Like the Lip Oil Stick, It’s perfect for more natural looking beauty looks.

Overall, I was impressed with everything and will continue to use them; I also have a first impressions video on IG if you want to check that out too. I love how sleek and luxe the packaging looks, and while they are a bit of a splurge, if you’ve found yourself constantly buying different versions of the same product (but it’s cheaper), you may want to consider testing them out and making the investment.
