I’ve been wanting to try the wine lip trend for a while (it’s one of those cold weather trends that never really goes out of style) but I hadn’t been able to find one that was flattering. Either they were way too dark, or there was too much pink in it, so it didn’t really give the effect I wanted. I’ve been a fan of Revlon’s Matte Lipsticks for a while (strong colors look best on me when the formula is matte) however I decided to try the Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry, even though it was a creme.
I’m SO happy that I did! It was the exact color that I had been searching for, and the formula was opaque but not flat since it was a creme. It was long lasting, and it didn’t smear or run, which made it perfect to wear to work and on a date. Best part? It’s only$4.99!
A lot of people are weary of drugstore brands because they fear that it’ll be sub-par but Revlon is a great brand to experiment meant if you want to get more bang for your buck!
TIP:
Let your lips be the focus when you decide to go dark. Wine stains CAN be worn during the day; keep skin clean with a little bit of bronzer to warm things up, load up on mascara to define eyes (skip liner unless it’s a super thin line), and groom brows.
