When the seasons change, not only do I start thinking about my fashion looks for the upcoming season, I also start thinking about my beauty looks as well. Fall is probably the most romantic season to me. I know that Spring traditionally carries that title because of blossoming flowers, pastel colors and sunny days but in my book, Fall is the real winner. Why? Think about it: Cooler weather = warm blankets and jackets, hot cocoa, walks in the parks holding hands (watching the leaves change), earlier nights, snuggling in front of a fireplace, etc. The list goes on. Well with all of that snuggling and romance, why not play up your pout (because who doesn’t desire to be more kissable, lol) with a pretty red lip?
Some people associate red lipstick with being a rocker chick and having wild nights but I think a bold red lip paired with a fresh, minimalist face is a fun alternative to the traditional smokey-eye and nude lip look.

Lush lashes + defined brows + slightly flushed cheeks + a bold red lip = classic beauty
So now I’m on the hunt for the perfect red (not all are created equal). Your skin’s undertones (warm, or cool) are the deciding factor on which red will be best for you so choose wisely.
Warm (yellow or olive undertones) look best with brick-red or fire engine red hues.
Cool (pink or reddish undertones) look best with cherry or wine hues.
*There are also a few reds that are true in color, which means anybody can wear them.
Last Sunday I had the pleasure of attending the Southern Women’s Show in Memphis with SheaMoisture, an all-natural organic skincare + healthcare line that creates products…
Mixed prints and versatile, lightweight pieces are must-haves for your wardrobe right now. Add in a bold, bright lip and loose waves for on-trend looks…
The temps dropped to the 60s last Saturday night, and while some people (like my friend Andrea, lol) were shaking their fists at the sky, I was rejoicing: Fall is indeed almost here.
Last week I went to the grand opening of Sephora in Saddle Creek (yaaaas! It’s a little bit closer to home) and picked up some new goodies while there.
When the seasons start to change, so should your skincare and beauty needs, so I was excited to receive the Fall 2017 edition of Redbook’s signature Red Beauty Box.
